Photographer Roberto Zampino shot this magnificent photo somewhere in Florence. We are not sure where, but we love the reflections in the water and the old buildings, including the buildings built on the bridge. While this is common in Europe, you will not see this in America.
The city of Florence is the capital of the province of Florence and the region of Tuscany. Florence has a long history and is a very important city for Italy and Europe. Florence was a center for medieval European trade and finance and a very wealthy city then. The Italian Renaissance started in Florence. Florence was even the capital of the Kingdom of Italy from 1865 to 1870.
Historic Florence was declared a World Heritage Site in 1982 and the Renaissance palazzi, academies, gardens, churches, monasteries, museums, art galleries and ateliers make the city a place of beauty. Many regard Florence as the art capital of Italy. Millions visit Florence each year to enjoy her beauty and the art.
